Vinyl Records, Recorded Live

Michael Dixon, an audio engineer and tinkerer from the Seattle area, is using restored vintage record lathes to create custom vinyl records recorded in real time.

Your next gig can be recorded live, direct to vinyl with Michael’s repurposed equipment. Or maybe you can give away customized singles at your next launch party (OK – What song do you want on the B side? Give me a minute)

He is even experimenting with using his disc cutting lathe to make recordings out of different materials, including X-rays, and even a CD that will play in your CD player AND your turntable.

Want to record music on the plates your guests just ate pizza off of?

Yeah, Mike can do that.

Mike, and his company Mobile Vinyl Recorders, has quickly found success with his restored, old school equipment. Mobile Vinyl Recorders has put its equipment to work at SXSW, Coachella, and the Sundance Film Festival.

The Flaming Lips and Justin Timberlake have used their services. Even Netflix, Spotify and Nike have hired MVR for events
